    Skin pinch is less useful in assessing Dehydration in  infants or children with Merasmus(severe wasting) or kwashiorker(Severe malnutrition with edema) or Obese children.


Skin pinch interpretation in normal child with diarrhoea:
If the skin pinch takes <1.5-2sec to go back normal-moderate dehydration
If the skin pinch takes >2sec to go back to normal-severe Dehydration
If the skin goes back quickly in no time- No dehydration.
