Dysgerminoma:

1. It is the most common malignant germ cell tumour of ovary .
2. It is compared to seminoma of males.
3. Primarily effect young women.
4. they are most commonly unilateral.
5. This is the most common malignancy detected during pregnancy.
6. Unlike other germ cell tumours it doesnot secrete AFP.It secretes LDH and placenta secreting harmone.
7. It is not a virilising tumour.
8. It is the most radio sensitive tumour of the whole body.
9. Most common mode of spread is Lymphatics. but it can also spread hematogenously.
10. Treatment : surgery is the treatment of choice. for recurrent tumour chemotherapy with BEP i.e Bleomycin,etoposide,Cisplatin is the treatment.
